Fort Wadsworth

One of the oldest military installations in the country, guarding the Narrows since the Dutch colonial era, with a Civil War-era battery you can walk right through underneath the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge. The view of the bridge from directly beneath its support tower is something most drivers crossing above never see.
