Austin's Moonlight Towers
17 surviving cast-iron moonlight towers from the 1890s still illuminate parts of the city at night, a lighting technology that was already obsolete elsewhere by the time most cities adopted electric streetlights. Richard Linklater's 'Dazed and Confused' was named partly for one of these towers.
