HIDDEN GEM
City Hall Subway Station (view from the 6 train)
A gorgeous, vaulted Guastavino-tiled subway station built in 1904 and closed to the public since 1945, but you can still ride through it for free if you stay on a downtown 6 train past the last stop at Brooklyn Bridge. The chandeliers and skylights are the most elegant thing you'll ever glimpse from a subway seat.
