General Grant National Memorial (Grant's Tomb)

The largest mausoleum in North America sits on a bluff over the Hudson in Morningside Heights, and even lifelong New Yorkers rarely go inside. Ulysses and Julia Grant's twin sarcophagi are visible from a balcony ringing the domed interior, and it's free to visit any day of the week.
